Youngsters praised for their fresh outlook on new community

THE bright and positive future of Grimsby’s newest housing development has been unveiled – as seen through the eyes of local schoolchildren.

Talented youngsters from Yarborough Primary School team up with new homes builder Stamford Homes and Shoreline Housing Partnership in a competition to paint their vision of Freshney Green.

From the dozens of creative, imaginative and thought-provoking entries, three winners were selected from three age groups by judges from Stamford Homes and Shoreline.

Melanie Parker, Stamford Homes sales manager said: “The judges were faced with an unenviable task of choosing just a handful of winners from so many fabulous paintings. Our thanks to the school and to all the children who took part and put so much effort into the competition.

“ It is really encouraging to see that they have such a positive outlook for the new Freshney Green development and local community.”

Shoreline chief executive Tony Bramely added: “It is fantastic to see these wonderful designs which show how positively the children are embracing the exciting future that is Freshney Green.

“They are transforming ordinary hoardings, brightening up the neighbourhood as it undergoes this major redevelopment and providing something that the whole community can enjoy.”
The winners will have their paintings framed, and also made into hoardings to go up around the development.

Winners were; Dalton Bolt (11), Sam Pearson (9) and Chloe Redfern (5). Highly commended were Lauren Strong, Luke Connor and Shea Matthews – all aged 11.
